- Responsible for providing onsite technical support to field engineers and technicians, as well as engineers and technicians operating remotely.
- Assist in diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing network systems.
- Manages assigned projects to ensure timely completion, efficient use of resources, and appropriate technology to meet commitments.
- Implements changes or improvements to new or existing products and features, including test and analysis, following customer’s prescribed change management process.
- Coordinates with and interacts as an advocate to the supplier to resolve escalated customer service requests.
- Manages liaison activities between suppliers and end users for maintenance activities.
- Delivers on-site technical assistance when required to correct or prevent catastrophic service loss.
- Responsible for analysis and trouble shooting of network problems.
- Create and maintain administration standards and policies with respect to the user, development, test, training, and production environments.
- Supply Root Cause Analysis documentation to support Priority 1 outage resolution. Implement hard and soft MACDs as requested by the customer through standard request protocols.
Responsibility:
- Provide operational support for all network devices (primarily Cisco) across the client headquarters infrastructure, including switches, routers, WLAN controllers, LWAPs and VPN
- Support MACD activity at the client headquarters in Downers Grove, IL, and support remote MACD activity at other client locations in North America
- Create/update network documentation that includes physical and logical designs, version management, IP schemes
- Follow client change control guidelines
- Document network standards including device configuration and peer review process
- Document and implement best practices for network design, patch management , administration, upgrades
Skills Required:
- Cisco products and device management (routers, switches – Catalyst)
- In-depth knowledge of WAN/LAN technologies, protocols, design, configuration
- Routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, HSRP)
- VPN authentication and security technologies
- Wireless LAN technologies
***JOB REQUIREMENTS:***
- Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of Network Engineering experience
- CCNP required
- Superior analytical skills
