- This position provides support for all OAM National Network Nodes within these national data centers such as IP routers, layer 3 switches and server farm load balancers.
- This position provides support for all OAM National Network Nodes within these national data centers such as IP routers, layer 3 switches and server farm load balancers.
- The qualified individual will work closely with A&P and OAM Network Engineering teams to deliver wireless data connectivity solutions on the OAM network in the National Data Centers.
- Candidate will be a subject matter expert on IP routing, IP routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and layer 2 switching (STP, port channeling) and be able to offer technical expertise to ensure desired solution can be achieved which includes troubleshooting network outages, provisioning new network nodes, change requests and decommissions.
- In addition, candidate will provide assistance to Network Engineering in forecasting future traffic growth.
- Also, the candidate will be assisting implementation engineering in organizing and controlling of on-site equipment installations and working with equipment vendors to resolve hardware and software problems.
- Position is defined as an individual contributor engineer with strong technical skills that works independently with little direction. Vendor Certifications (Cisco, Juniper, F5) are suggested.
- Contractor will be required to be on call every 7 to 8 weeks for a week. This person must be available 7 by 24 during that week.
- In addition, this person must be available to do after hours maintenance activities (in support of OAM network) between 3 am and 6 am ET for up to 5 nights each week.
