Tier 3 Network Engineer <<>> Location: Middletown, NJ

• Provide Tier3 support for VPN Services in a Service provider network consisting of carrier-class Juniper and Cisco gear.
• Introduce new Network technology/features/efficiencies in the field production network in a flawless fashion. Scripting skills desired.
• Tier 3 support for VPN Services and Networks.
• Responsibilities include advanced technical support, testing, vendor management, systems engineering, data analysis, root cause analysis for complex networking issues, performance studies and other advanced technical work in networks and network services.

 

Education & Skills:

• Cisco Certification – CCNA/CCNP/CCIP/CCIE and/or Juniper certification in JNCIS/JNCIA/JNCIE
• BS in Engineering, Comp Science or related major or MS a plus.
• Primary requirement is expertise with Juniper technology, then Cisco Routers (GSR, RPM, CRS)
• Cisco MGX ATM switches, Ethernet switches from various vendors, and Avici routers.
• High level of expertise in MPLS, BGP, PNNI, OSPF, ATM, Frame Relay, Layer1 technology.
• Ability to work under pressure and be on 24×7 Tier support rotation, solve complex problems
• Work fluently with development engineers, present complex data to varying audiences in an effective manner, and ability to communicate effectively with peers, managers, and customers.
