  • Sun & Intel-based high-end Enterprise Class and Midrange Servers, Enterprise & Mid-range Storage and Operating System (Solaris and Linux -Redhat)
  • in a mission-critical production environment.
  • Should have good fundamentals and working knowledge of Veritas Volume Manager and Filesystem.
  • A strong willingness and desire to learn (self-learner) and to stretch competencies is a must.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment at a high efficiency level without issues/errors
  • Strong ability to analyze, research and solve technical issues/needs in existing production, dev and test environment.
  • Create and follow Operating (OA&M) procedures as needed and also adapt/update procedures to current needs
  • Required to do 24×7 pager support in production environment with remote access to fix or coordinate problems.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal) needed to effectively interact with a diverse group of customers, developers, testers, administrators, and project team.
  • Installation of application middleware software and open source tools: ssh, gnu compiler, binutils, perl, openssl, etc.
  • Should have sound fundamental knowledge of basic SSH/ Openssl/ TCP/IP networking principles for unix network troubleshooting
  • This position will also in addition support the Development and Test environments.

  • This position will provide Physical DBA Sustainment support for about 60-70 Prod DBs.
  • UNIX Oracle physical DBA for Oracle-based applications.
  • Responsibilities will include Oracle database administration, backup/recovery, Oracle upgrades, installs, database migrations, Dataguard/Standby, Goldengate, RAC, Oracle Grid Control, DB tuning, and performance management of the DB environment.
  • Oracle physical DBA experience (minimum 5 years of exp in USA) in a large and dynamic environment.
  • Solid understanding of core Oracle RDBMS concepts is needed in this large and fast moving environment.
  • Candidates must be expert in using unix-driven, non-GUI based tools for day to day database support.
  • Strong problem solving skills, strong interpersonal communication skills, self- directed with good organizing and planning skills, supportive of standards, must wear pager and participate in 24X7 support, must be willing to work off-shift when necessary, disciplined approach to performing job requirements, effective participant in a team environment and client-focused.
  • Must be able to support 50+ oracle instances.
  • Must have production experience.
