Support Engineer – Mobile Application <<<>>> Location: Irving, TX

  • Standard Tier 1 monitoring, ticketing and triaging as needed to support the Mobile Application Services Organization
  • Responsible for Monitoring, Analysis, and Resolution of faults occurring in Network Elements that are managed by the Mobile Application Service Ops organization.
  • The supported elements include: Unix and Windows servers supporting the SMS, MMS, WAP, and other mobile telephony applications.
  • Performs fault isolation, validation, and some repair for supported network nodes, escalating and tracking advanced repair to specialized teams.
  • Responsible for the rapid assessment of both the nature and severity of customer problems to evaluate appropriate response, engages various support organizations to provide that response.
  • Assists and supports the engaged support organizations to reduce duration and severity of customer impact and/or loss of redundancy.
  • Opens, updates, and closes trouble tickets as required to track progress of trouble resolution.
  • Typically reports to first or second level management. Skills/Experience required: 6 mos.
  • Experience with Netcool Fault Monitoring tool 1 year Experience with Remedy-based system.
  • 1 year Experience with Unix (Linux, HP/UX, and/or Solaris).
  • Experience with Mobile Communications protocols (SMS, MMS, WAP) a plus.
