Wireless RAN Equipment Engineer <<>> Location: Hanover, MD

Overall Responsibility:

  • Manage the equipment implementation cycle (order through test and turn up) for all market radio access network projects.
  • Provide a point of interface between market project teams, market finance and supply chain management.
  • Act as the market “subject matter expert” for all base station, interconnect and power equipment being implemented via new site build and growth projects.
  • Manage equipment related milestones in the project management database.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Manage market equipment orders in the EPL system; systemically, from cradle to grave.
  • Develop an in depth understanding of market specific equipment BOM’s and equipment interoperability.
  • Maintain relationships with equipment suppliers and communicate new products and product modifications to program managers.
  • Collaborate with program managers to develop solutions to challenging new site builds and modifications, (i.e. space constrained and power constrained solutions).
  • Report on projected equipment delivery rates as well as modifications to existing SCM equipment process.
  • Manage key Equipment Engineering milestones within the database.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Three or more years experience with the Oracle EPL system.
  • Two or more years experience with the project management system or comparable tool within the wireless industry).
  • Advanced understanding of Alcatel Lucent, Argus, Lineage, Ericson, Nortel and Nokia radio network equipment.
  • Excellent MS Office Skills (particularly MS Excel).
  • Strong problem solving, interpersonal and persuasive skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills. Desired Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate Degree in Electrical or RF Engineering.
  • In depth understanding of Visual Basic as it relates to writing MS Excel macro formulas.
